play the PitchWeb

The PitchWeb is a multiuser musical instrument created for the Cathedral Project. You play it by moving shapes that trigger sound samples.

PitchWeb Mobile
We unveiled a beta version of the new PitchWeb for mobile phones in Tokyo in March. Versions for 99 phones and counting will soon be available.

Play live in concert!
The Cathedral Band gets together periodically with online PitchWeb players in live performances. Your sounds will be mixed live to stages around the world.

Our next meet-ups will be:

31 August 2007

TBA

iOrpheus
Join us as we take it to the streets with iOrpheus, a public opera staged in and around the South Bank parklands in Brisbane, Australia.

How to play
You need the Shockwave and QuickTime plug-ins, which the PitchWeb will automatically get. You can test your setup now with the Plug In tester to the left. If you don't see the movies, click on the link to get the plugin you need.

play the PitchWeb

Please note that by playing the multiuser PitchWeb, you agree to assign copyright of your musical contribution to the Cathedral project.

As you begin, you may encounter a security alert because the sounds of the PitchWeb need to be downloaded to your browser's cache before it will play. All you need to do is check "Allow Future Access By This Movie", hit the download button, and you'll be ready to play.

community

As we continue to develop the PitchWeb and make it available on-line, we would welcome your input. There's a PitchWeb Forum on the Cathedral message board to share your views, meet other players, and ask for help. Welcome to the band.
